Madonna's MTV Video Music Awards History
(Last update: August 27, 2003)
Madonna's music videos have garnered 66 MTV Video
Music Award nominations, more than any other artist
in history. She earned her 66th nomination this year
for Best Video from a Film ("Die Another Day").
Of her previous 65 nods, her videos have gone on
to win 19 moon men -- more than any other artist.
She also won the non-competitive Video Vanguard Award in 1986.
Her most recent Moon Man was the 1999 award for
Best Video from a Film, for "Beautiful Stranger"
(from "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me").

Awards, visit its website at http://vma.mtv.com.
The statistics for Madonna's VMA History come from
the MTV.com site, so if you think I have something
wrong, it's probably because the MTV site is incorrect.
In fact, the current MTV site has left out a few of
Madonna's previous nominations. They are listed below
and noted as such. However, in previous incarnations of
MTV's VMA archive information, they *have* listed
all of Madonna's nominations. Therefore, I have provided
them here, and included them in her overall tally.

This timeline includes all of Madonna's nominations,
wins, and performances at the MTV Video Music Awards.
(Also, if Madonna didn't win, the video that won is noted.)
